Items of note:  The Library will be CLOSED for Christmas on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday the 23rd, 24th & 25th of December.  Our Friends of the Library Book Store – located inside the library – is now open on Wednesdays & Saturdays from 10am till 2pm (except for Christmas Day).  We have a Bilingual Storytime on the 1st Thursday of the month (Dec 5th) from 11am till 12pm & also on Thursday, December 5th we have Books with Daisy from 4 till 5pm.  Daisy is a trained service dog that comes to have children read to her.  Once per month, we have our Eclectic Book Club led by our director, Linda Hitchcock.  It’s on the 2nd Thursday of the month (December 12th) from 1:30 till 2:30pm.  There’s no assigned reading for this book club … you just talk about whatever you are currently reading.  Our children’s librarian has started a BRAND NEW Storytime called Bumble Babies on Tuesday mornings.  This new storytime is geared toward babies under 1 year of age.  We also have an Adulting 101 class in December, on Thursday the 19th & it will be covering how to decorate a Christmas tree.  And last – but certainly NOT least – the Lake Alfred Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 7th this year starting at 6:30pm.
